Global Achievements. Really love this game and would love to know if it's compatible with joystick control? Also if so, which joysticks would you recommend? Showing 1 - 1 of 1 comments.
Yes, joysticks work. No you should NOT use them unless you only play Sim battles. Joystick controll in this game was very good back when it first went open Beta, which is why if you look up reviews on the game when it went pulic it was seen as a great flight game that bordered on Sim quality. Only one problem, most players use a Mouse, AKA 2-axis movment, and planes require 3 axis of controll.
This meant that when Mouse Aimers went against Joysitck users they regualrly got out manuvered becuase we had full 3 axis controll and they didnt. They cried like babies about it being unfair. Gaijin Nerfed teh crap out of Joysticks to the point they were almost broken.
Then they denied it for months. Then they admitted joystick were having problems, but claimed it was accidental and it would be fixed "soon". Then they spent 1. Now they say its fixed, but it is not. The problem is not fixable from what I have been told by people in the know. Are you a fan of flight simulators and aircraft games for PC?
Use this guide to find the best flight stick for your interests and budget. A large advantage to any joystick is a throttle. This is a lever that can be pressed forward or pulled backward to make the vehicle you are piloting speed up or slow down.
Throttles can be either integrated on the base of the joystick itself or come as a detached control. Having a separate throttle control can be beneficial in a number of ways.
With the best joystick for certain games, you may not need to use your keyboard or mouse at all! With a detached throttle, you also usually get more buttons than if you were using a mouse or a throttle on the base of a joystick. There are a variety of different setups you can have while playing your favorite game or simulator. Here are the most popular:.
There is no hard and fast rule about which one is best. It is your personal choice according to which you feel most comfortable with. Button configuration and layout is very important for many games; this is especially true for flight simulators. A lot of gamers enjoy having a separate control for throttle as it offers more versatility at your fingertips.
Though many people still prefer the best gaming keyboard for PC games, a specialized stick and throttle set for flight and space simulators can mean all the difference in a dogfight!
This controls the yaw in flight and space simulators. If a joystick does not have this functionality, a lot of people use pedals instead. They commonly provide point-of-view control so you can switch between different camera angles. Thrustmaster makes some amazing joysticks, and they are a name you can trust if you are in need of a HOTAS stick. With a total of 19 buttons including an 8-way POV hat, this flight stick has enough hats and pinkie push buttons to please almost anyone.
Check Prices. Whether you need a mouse, keyboard or controller, Logitech generally has something in their arsenal for everyone. That includes folks looking for a great gaming joystick like the Extreme 3D Pro, an affordable alternative with an 8-way hat switch.
Logitech put a lot of thought into the design of this stick and consumers found it comfortable and precise. The button placement is excellent, and the twist handle rudder is a nice touch as well. The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is a great entry-level joystick that provides a lot of bang for your buck. Thrustmaster has a stick with a price point and style for everyone. Its very good for its price and it also has two types of rudder, one behind the rudder or one by twisting the joystick. Originally posted by Eftwyrd :. Last edited by Litva ; 11 Dec, am.

But I cannot believe, that it is better to use a mouse than a joystick for a flight sim.
Is it the same for you? Showing 1 - 10 of 10 comments. It depends on what you prefer and are more comfortable with. When it comes to the flight sim aspect as apparent through the 'simulator battles' game mode, I personally find that a joystick is far batter than using the mouse-joy setup.
I personally use mouse for Arcade and Realistic battles. If you're going for the simulator battle mode, I would suggest using a Joystick as, in that simulator context, I find it serves far better.

I don't speak about arcade battles. For me, it is strange. A joystick should be the better control instrument for a plane, regardless in which modus you use it. It's because of the game mechanics. The planes aren't as responsive with a joystick or HOTAS setup as a real plane would be, and there is a lot of movement drift happening with a joystick that the mouse eliminates.
Even after hours of tweaking my dead zones, sensitivities, and force multipliers, I couldn't find a medium that I was absolutely happy with in terms of degree of control, and I've flown actual airplanes before. This game is NOT a flight simulator. Last edited by lithiumfriction ; 30 Dec, pm. Nahh u can use a joystick in Sb and RB too, I use to play RB with a joystick and the trackir so its more easy to aim and follow a plane but SB is a little bit difficult because u will find better opponents using joysticks.
Illusionyary View Profile View Posts. It's easier to use a mouse in RB because despite the name realistic battles aren't that realistic.
RB is essentially a more realistic AB. Planes handle more realistically but still not how they would in real life, if you're going to use a joystick use it in SB. Last edited by JRos83 ; 31 Dec, am. For SB the joystick is the best. It doesn't even need to be a joystick, I have over air target kills in SB using my wired xbox controller. Kai View Profile View Posts. Originally RB was called 'Historical' Battles.By mkuJanuary 24, in Air Battles.
I am playing this game for quite a Long time and i love it, but i can not fix the Problem with the Joystick. But i get MAYBE one kill before i get shot down by some "mouseaimers" who fly impossible Maneuvres and can aim without the "wobble Problem" which we Joystick-Users have. And dont tell me to go to AIr SIM, i am an old man and find it hard to "spot the dot" which really is hard anyway. It was already discussed numerous times. If you are not feeling into fighting with people who are using mouse and keyboard, you should stick to the SB.
You are not fighting with enemy on huge distances, right? Keep your screen clean and you should be able to spot enemy soon enough to react.
Less reward for people who are using mouse with 5 buttons? More reward for people who are playing on 15' screens?Largest private ambulance company
More reward for people who play cockpit only and have no track IR? If you suggest something that will "boost" your reward, always remember that there will be someone who will also want to have similar thing like you but with different conditions. Yeah, I get this idea. The base values without premium are too low, and while I know there should be some pressure to get Premium to efficiently spade Tier 5 stuff, when the income levels are so low you can't even unlock a Tier 4 tank remotely quickly it just gets old and boring fast instead of accomplishing its original mission of trying to make people buy premium.
Basically, frustrating people to buy premium doesn't really work. Instead priority should be given to implementing more stuff suggested by users of all the forums to make players happier. Happy players will feel obligated to spend money as a sign of appreciation to the developers. Because I test drove and enjoyed the tank, not because I was frustrated to the breaking point of playing other American Tanks.
The American-European forums feel kinda ignored by the devs. Since the devs are probably overloaded with work on boats and tanks and maybe some of WW mode, why not "outsource" more low-level stuff to players through the CDK? More convoys? An actually populated frontline outside of the occasional pushes? Maybe using the existing Silver-to-Gold exchange Rate could work?
We all have tons of ideas but the forum staff are overloaded in Suggestions, simple things to make gameplay massively better are overlooked, and yet the tool exists to fix a lot of these.
When, if ever, will we be able to work together to fix small issues the devs simply don't have time for? The wobble dissappear for you and you can do anything a mouse aimer except headon.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. War Thunder Store Page.
Global Achievements. Im using an original microsoft sidewinder, and I really do not know how to set this thing up.English test for grade 2 pdf
All the controls I try to adjust make it do odd stuff. Can anyone give a good configuation, thanks. Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. Last edited by TheShaolinMonk ; 11 Jan, pm. Is there any specific guide for the Sidewinder?
10 Best Joysticks and Flight Sticks You Can Find in 2020
I can't seem to find anything. It seems the stick has a two axis on the stick and the throttle counts as a single axis. Plus when I think it is all good it takes off and the yaw forces it to go right and up at the same time since there are only 2 axis instead of 4 on the stick compared to others.
Is there a config file for the sidewinder that I could use? Okay thanks for the information man. Thanks again. Sheepify View Profile View Posts. I actually stopped playing WT after the 1. Not sure what was done to stick handling, but my painstakingly created previous configuration ended up all in shambles. It could not compete with mouse and keyboard even before the update, but afterwards it was like fighting hydraulics failure Could not figure out a decent sensitivity settings the few times i tried tinkering with it.
